The Romanian-American Foundation, has recently announced the final results of the Applied Research, Technological Innovation and Entrepreneurship (ARTIE) Proof of Concept (POC) Call for Proposals. In this competition, the “Noise-robust, domain-adaptable, large-vocabulary automatic speech recognition system for the Romanian language” (LVCSR-ROM) project, proposed by the SpeeD group, was ranked first out of more than 150 submitted proposals. Consequently, the project was selected to receive an ARTIE Award with funding. The project is expected to start in mid-October 2013 and to end in mid-June 2014.
